Mehak Zaraq Bari

Mehak Zaraq Bari is a human rights lawyer, an academic and an educationist with more than 9 years of experience in legal education. She is also an accredited Mediator (SIMI) and certified Negotiator. In 2020 she was nominated for the National Mediation Awards UK and is a member of Singapore International Mediation Institute. She is the Co-founder of ADR Initiative and heads its Think Tank. The aim of the Think Tank is research and spreading awareness. Under her tutelage researchers and writers regularly publish articles on mediation and ADR in local newspapers and online Pakistani academic websites.

She is also the Founder of Justice Initiative, an organization aimed to educate the masses on law and legal rights and procedures. She teaches Post-Graduate students Human Rights Law at University of Lahore. Moreover, she is the Lecturer for International Protection of Human Rights and Legal System and Methods teaching University of London students. She was also the Director at Business and Law School till 2018 and the Associate Director at Pakistan College of Law till 2020. She regularly conducts legal and sociological research workshops at her education institutions for students and publishing institutions for authors.  For several years she has worked as a financial and legal consultant for Informanagement, a Netherland and UK based company, designing professional and practical online trainings for their clients. She also designs workshops and courses for professional development for her students.

She is the Editor for Bayan-Simorgh, Pakistan’s first Socio-legal Journal. She is a published author and has been published nationally and internationally in journals and newspapers. She has worked with the World Bank as a local Expert for their Women, Business and the Law (WBL) Project 2020 and 2021 which focuses on women in business and their human rights. She has also contributed her expertise to Amnesty International’s Climate Change Campaign 2019 in Pakistan which focused on human rights and climate change.  She holds an LLM in International Human Rights Law (QMUL), LL. B (hons) (University of London), BSc Accounting and Finance (UOL) and Diploma in Economics (UOL).
