Akbar as the Founder of The ADR Initiative has delved deep into the theory and practicality of ADR, in all facets, i.e. arbitration, negotiation and mediation.
He has trained judges, bureaucrats, lawyers, businessman, students, politicians, accountants, ombudsman and many more, in ADR.
He has represented governments, private parties, international development partners and NGOs in ADR throughout the world.
He has recently partnered with USAID to establish Pakistan's first Trade Dispute Resolution organization, and has created the entire system on which it will operate.
He has also worked with international partners on foreign direct investment and the needs of dispute resolution systems to resolve various concerns in the global village.
His accomplishments as the founder of ADRi aside, he has been nominated for the National Mediation Awards, 2020, for innovation in ADR.
He has championed the use and necessity of ADR throughout his career, and can proudly say that he is only a practitioner of ADR, having foregone his traditional practice of litigation.
