Hasnain Kazmi

Mr. Kazmi is a seasoned advocate Supreme Court who has been performing his responsibilities as Deputy Attorney General for Pakistan from June 2014 till February 2017 and Assistant Advocate General Punjab from 2005 till 2009. During his tenure at Advocate General Punjab he has remained as Special Prosecutor (Rawalpindi Division) from 2007 to 2009 and conducted many high profile cases. He studied law from the University of Buckingham.
He has vast experience spreading across litigation, arbitration and mediation. Mr. Kazmi has assisted the Counsels in International Arbitration at ICC on behalf of the Government of Pakistan. He has over fifteen years of experience in resolving disputes through arbitration and mediation. He has expertise in handling Transactional work, Acquisitions, Mergers, Contracts, Energy law, Telecommunication, IT, Pharmaceuticals, Services law, Tax matters, Company and Corporate law and Property law, Competition law, and Alternative dispute resolution.
Mr. Kazmi is a Research Associate of Durham Global Security Institute and has been providing legal research, policy and legislation drafting assistance. He has drafted Sasti Roti Authority Ordinance 2009, Ehtasab Commission Bill for KPK 2013, and Rules for Special Economic Zones. He has authored Commentary on The Financial Institution (Recovery of Finances) Ordinance 2001 Edition 2009, Manual of Evacuee Trust Properties laws in Pakistan Edition 2013, Corpus Juris for the Banking Cases Edition August 2013, The Manual of Company Laws with all Amendments and Case law Edition 2014. He is visiting lecturer at Federal Judicial Academy, Islamabad and National Police Academy Sihala.
