Muhammad Qasim Qureshi

Mr. Mohammad Qasim Qureshi is an advocate by profession. He completed his LLB (Honours) (External Programme) of the University of London, UK at Islamabad School of Law, Islamabad, Pakistan and then undertook the Bar Vocational Course (BVC) from Inns of Court School of Law (City, University of London), UK. He was called to the Bar of England and Wales by The Honourable Society of Lincolns Inn in November 2002. In 2008, he completed his dissertation titled “WTO Laws and Pakistan” and obtained the LLM degree from the University of Huddersfield, UK. In 2009, he was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors of the Law Society of England and Wales after successfully completing the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test.

From June 2006 to October 2012, he served as the Chief Executive at Asian Institute of Trade and Development (AITD), a non-governmental organization working on International Trade Rules and WTO laws in Pakistan. He represented AITD in various conferences in Pakistan, Nepal, India and Thailand. In addition to compiling his dissertation he has also written a few research articles on various topics including inter alia:

· Impact of Trade Liberalization on the Cutlery sector in Pakistan.

· Impact of Trade Liberalization on the Telecom sector in Pakistan.

· Foreign Direct Investment in South Asian Countries.

In 2007-2008, he also worked on the customization of the book titled “International Trade Centre (ITC): Trade Secrets series, International Trade Rules: An answer book on the WTO Agreements for small and medium sized exporters.” He is presently a member of The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn (UK), Law Society (UK), Islamabad Bar Council (Pakistan), Islamabad Bar Association (Pakistan), and Islamabad High Court Bar Association (Pakistan).

Presently, he is legal advisor for numerous INGOs, NGOs, RSPs and NBFCs across Pakistan.

He has also taught LLB, LLM and A Level students for over a decade.
